Dr. Thompson, what I love about you is that you certainly do keep your fingers on the pulse of what happening in the publishing world. You have made an impact on many of the young writers via showing them how to change direction in their writings and bringing forth substance that will last longer than overnight. We must teach the young generation that what they write and do today will have an effect on the–their sons, daughters.
I am happy that our young people are writing, that’s more than what we can say for the older generation who take their knowledge to their grave–leaving no trail of history. Let’s get busy and join people like Maxine and help to show our young people which way to go. Instead of the book clubs turning to reading White folks books, keep searching, there are plenty good Black writers out there. You sound like the typical negro who are treated bad in a Black owned business and makes the statement, I am never going to do business with a Black business again. White authors write trash books also, since trash is not your taste, you refuse to buy them–so do the same for Black books that’s trash. Leave them on the self and find a good Black read, like Dr. Maxine Thompson books and my books. Go to http://www.milliganbooks.com and you will find plenty good books to read. Book clubs should start reading more books on self-help, finance and how-to. Stop trying to escape and face reality, this life that you are living here is real. From an elder who loves you all. Peace. Maxine keep up the great work, the angels are smiling upon you. When you transition from this life, the world will know that you were here!
Dr. Milligan,
Once again, you’ve given me wise words to live by. You always remind me to keep the bigger picture in mind.
Thanks for being a guide, a mentor, and a leader.
Much love,
Maxine
Maxine, I’ve read most of the books on your list. I’m also honored to be on your list.
Shelia,
I’m glad to know your literary tastes run like mine.
I’m honored to represent your broad talent and your vast imagination.
